Bill Kinghorn
Biography
William Kinghorn was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1935. His works include two symphonies, a concerto for orchestra, a piano concerto, and several chamber and vocal works.
In 1975 William was appointed senior lecturer in Harmony and Composition at the Leeds College of Music. He later became the course director for the BA(Mus) in jazz studies validated by the University of Leeds.
William has made a special study of the work of jazz pianist Bill Evans and he continues to lecture and to give workshops and concerts.
