New director for ABRSM Publishing
The present directors of ABRSM Publishing invited Simon Mathews to join its Board of Directors in recognition of his huge contribution to the development of the company since he was appointed Production Manager in February 1995. The appointment also acknowledges the major role Simon now takes in the design and production of printed literature on behalf of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music as a whole.
Simon Mathews was previously Production Manager for Schott and Co Ltd, London, and prior to that he was Production Supervisor for Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers Ltd. He has recently been invited to be a visiting lecturer on the new Graduate Certificate Course in Music Publishing run by the London College of Printing.
ABRSM Publishing enjoyed its most successful year ever in 2002/3, selling more than two million copies of its books, music folios and CDs throughout the world, in over 90 different countries.
