Edwin Roxburgh
Biography
b. 1937 Liverpool. Studied composition at the Royal College of Music with Herbert Howells, in France with Nadia Boulanger and in Italy with Luigi Dallapiccola. Later studied at St John’s College, Cambridge. Is also professional oboist and conductor. Director of RCM 20th Century Ensemble at the Royal College of Music, where he also teaches composition and conducting and holds the RVW Fellowship in Composition. Has written opera and orchestral, choral and chamber music as well as works (some with electronics) for solo instruments.
